DESCRIPTION
The noted desperado of the southwest, whose deeds of daring and blood have made his name a terror in New Mexico and Arizona!
Off the Ground Theatre took a trip to the Wild West for the first time with The Ballads of Billy the Kid. The famous outlaw and desperado who made his name as a gunslinger and fearsome cowboy in Arizona and New Mexico is the hero of this brand new play, which takes us on a whistlestop tour through the life of one of the West’s most notorious outlaws, Billy the Kid. An ensemble cast of 10 take on all roles across the stories, showing us what happens when unfortunate circumstance affects the life of a young boy, and how constant media attention and hero-worship can turn somebody into something they are not. Duels, prison breaks, saloons, bank heists, horse races and train robberies - this is the ultimate in cowboy adventure for the summer.
"The Ballads of Billy the Kid tapped into what made outlaws and gunslingers so fascinating, and brought it to life with their trademark good humour and tight...script. Creative, different, entertaining, enjoyable, it was a great night of outdoor theatre going." ****

What to wear to open air theatre?
The best way to know what to wear to an open air theatre performance is to check on what the weather is doing, but always play it safe. If you can carry a coat in case things turn sour, then we’d always recommend doing so. Beyond that, wear anything you like to an open air theatre performance, though please ensure you wear something!
