SHOW TITLE
Liverpool Lantern Parade
YEAR
2017
PERFORMED
Liverpool City Centre
DESCRIPTION
Off the Ground Youth Theatre were invited by the Lantern Company to be a part of their Halloween Parade.
Hundreds of underworld inhabitants, dressed in the finest Halloween disguise, including illuminated giant beasts, skeletons and ghostly dancing apparitions, deathly street bands and other monstrosities crawled up through the cracks and partied through Liverpool’s streets like there was no tomorrow.
Thousands lined the streets as the parade moved from the Pilgrim Street/Hardman St junction just after 6pm. The Halloween Lantern spectacle made its way, flapping, hopping and rattling past the packed out Bombed Out Church of St Luke’s, through the city streets down towards the river, with families lining the best vantage points on Hardman Street, Bold Street, Church Street, Paradise Street, Thomas Steer Way, and Albert Dock, where the carnival came to a spectacular end and disappeared as quickly as it arrived.

What to wear to open air theatre?
The best way to know what to wear to an open air theatre performance is to check on what the weather is doing, but always play it safe. If you can carry a coat in case things turn sour, then we’d always recommend doing so. Beyond that, wear anything you like to an open air theatre performance, though please ensure you wear something!
