SHOW TITLE
Attempts on Her Life
YEAR
2019
PERFORMED
Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead
DESCRIPTION
A woman with various identities links all the scenes: she is the heroine of a film in one, a victim of civil war in another, an international terrorist, a porn star, and the subject of a conversation among friends. She is the living embodiment of Crimp's underlying declaration that coherent identity in the modern world is little more than myth.
These 11 ‘Scenarios for Theatre’, shocking and hilarious by turn, are a rollercoaster of late 20th-century obsessions. From pornography and ethnic violence, to terrorism and unprotected sex, its strange array of nameless characters attempt to invent the perfect story to encapsulate our time.
Written by Martin Crimp.
Directed by Dan Meigh & the company.

What to wear to open air theatre?
The best way to know what to wear to an open air theatre performance is to check on what the weather is doing, but always play it safe. If you can carry a coat in case things turn sour, then we’d always recommend doing so. Beyond that, wear anything you like to an open air theatre performance, though please ensure you wear something!
