DESCRIPTION
Off the Ground Theatre made their much anticipated return to a Shakespeare favourite with this summer’s open-air touring production. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a story we all know and love - fairies, lovers and donkey’s heads, anything goes once you’re in the forests outside Athen’s walls. This version, from Liverpool Everyman Associate Director Chris Tomlinson, places our lovers at the peak of their youth. Against a contemporary backdrop, a perfectly ambiguous, fragile yet perceptive Oberon wrestles with his teasing, mis-adventurous and single-minded Titania, both trapped in an unravelling relationship, while the ever-present Puck carries out his trademark mischief on the crisp, clean-cut young students from Athens. They have a lot to learn out here, and as the world they know begins to break down, we follow them on their ridiculous journeys to beginning to understand love and adulthood.

What to wear to open air theatre?
The best way to know what to wear to an open air theatre performance is to check on what the weather is doing, but always play it safe. If you can carry a coat in case things turn sour, then we’d always recommend doing so. Beyond that, wear anything you like to an open air theatre performance, though please ensure you wear something!
