SHOW TITLE
A (60s) Midsummer Night's (Hippy) Dream
YEAR
1998
PERFORMED
Ness Gardens, Wirral
DESCRIPTION
This production put a sixties slant on Shakespeare’s tale of love, lust and comic confusion, bringing it to life with music from the era and a few recognisable characters. The King is Elvis (obviously), Titania looks very much like Dusty Springfield and the fairies have definitely come straight from Woodstock.
This was our first major youth theatre production and the infusion of hippie spirit, song and dance made for a deeply silly night out!

What to wear to open air theatre?
The best way to know what to wear to an open air theatre performance is to check on what the weather is doing, but always play it safe. If you can carry a coat in case things turn sour, then we’d always recommend doing so. Beyond that, wear anything you like to an open air theatre performance, though please ensure you wear something!
