Welcome to Thebes

Off the Ground Youth Theatre presents

"Welcome to Thebes"

By Moira Buffini

“Welcome to Thebes” is a modern re-telling of the Greek play Antigone. Set in what could be the current situation in Libya, a country ravaged by the spoils of war is seeing its first democratically elected President inaugurated. They are bankrupt and still in shock and this fledgling Government needs the help of its wealthy neighbours to get back on track. With many familiar Greek characters and of course some interference from the Gods, we see the tension rising in this new land of hope and freedom!

The performances will be on Thur 22nd, Fri 23rd and Sat 24th March in Neston Civic Hall, beginning at 7.30pm.

Jesus Christ Superstar

Kicking us off in 2012 is “Jesus Christ Superstar”. This up to date, revolutionary musical sees the life of Jesus as we might see many modern day celebrities through the eyes of the media. It focuses on his rise to Superstardom and the inevitable hysteria that surrounds such attention. With many familiar songs and a live band it promises to be a show to remember.

The performance will be on Thur 2nd, Fri 3rd and Sat 4th Feb at Heswall Hall, beginning at 7.30pm.
